My Dear Richard,
I thought you would be interested to know that I had a longish conversation
with Don this morning. Dear Iris tells me that he is having a pretty
bad patch. Whilst some days are better than others it is mostly almost
insufferable. We talked a lot about the old days without in anyway being
maudlin. He knew though, when he had had enough.
In spite of it all, Don is still fighting and I'm sure we all wish him
well.
