The
Marlowe Concert Band, consisting mainly of ex Royal Marines Band musicians
under the direction of Paul Neville gave their annual performance in Canterbury
on Sunday 23rd July 2006.
Col Paul invited Ray Woodfield to conduct some of his very popular arrangements in the second half.
On the following day, Richard Baker (Euph/cello) invited Ray to the rehearsal of his Broadstairs and St Peters Band who relocated to Walmer Parish Hall for the occasion. Again Ray was invited to take up the baton to rehearse some of his arrangements. The band contains many ex rmb who were all very happy to renew their association with Ray.
The attached photos show Ray at work and the band afterwards. Shanks seemed particularly pleased to see Ray!
