BURFORD
- circa 1946 ( Who´s ...)?
Whilst browsing amongst a pile of old "Photies" I found this one that was, I think, taken whilst rounds were on one Saturday morning at Burford around 1946 time and thought that it may evoke a few memories for some of the older lads from that era. I recognize Dick Plaice and I think D.C. Brown (percussion). The faces of most of the rest I vaguely remember but cannot put any names to them.
These were good old days and I remember well some great runs ashore
in Cheltenham, Burford, Witney and even guzzling rough cider in a nearby
country pub with the "White Russians" who had fled from the
Stalin regime and were at that time in a "Displaced persons camp"
quite close to our camp.
